The idea behind LOCDOT is that a web user may find it useful to provide his or her address to either communicate the location of an item for sale (Ebay, Craigslist) or as a reference for ones proximity to other like-minded people (FaceBook, YouTube, MySpace).

However, most people will not feel comfortable to post their own address free for the world to see on the Internet.

LOCDOT solves this challenge by providing the exact distance between two users without either one having to reveal the address information until the revealing party feels comfortable enough to ‘connect the dots’ and disclose addresses to each other.
